Learning to Play Piano
My latest hobby is an attempt to learn to play the piano. I have a USB MIDI controller (keyboard) that interfaces with my computer. I bought a cheep piece of educational software that I’ve been working on for the last couple weeks. It’s a lot of fun. I also found a bunch of free programs that will be more useful when I can actually play more than 5 keys or so. Right now I’m working on learning the middle C position keys.
It’s hard to learn this stuff when you are “old”. I wish I would have pursued this when I was young. I always wanted to be able to play the piano. My motivation was never great enough to pursue it until now. I’m pretty excited about it.

Hey, we’ll be playing duets before long, eh?
Woah woah woah. That’s probably several YEARS away. It is taking me a long time just to get used to playing a few notes – very slowly, and not more than one at a time, much less both hands with different rhythms, much less two people with differing, intertwining parts. I’m not sure I’ll EVER get that advanced. But who knows. Maybe. If the Spirit of God inhabits me in such a way as to overcome my inability and lack of speed in learning. Then He’ll receive the glory, such as I wish it to be.
